Lipstone joins Propagate as president

Greg Lipstone

The former CEO of All3Media America has resurfaced as president of Propagate Content, the US studio set up three years ago by Ben Silverman and Howard T Owens with backing from A+E Networks.

Multiple Emmy-winner Greg Lipstone is joining the LA-based firm after departing All3Media at the start of this year. At All3 he oversaw the day-to-day operations of the company and the many prodcos under its umbrella, including Undercover Boss producer Studio Lambert and Maverick TV (Chrisley Knows Best).

Prior to that he was founding partner and board member at talent and literary agency ICM Partners, heading the agency’s international TV and media department where his clients included All3Media America, Original Media, LMNO Productions and Bodega Pictures.

Lipstone also worked at the William Morris Agency for 21 years, including a stint working alongside Owens and Silverman. He started there as a trainee and rose through the ranks to eventually head the agency’s network television department in 2004.

Lipstone today said: “In just a few short years their pioneering approach to media and technology has positioned Propagate to become one of the top global providers of premium content for all platforms around the world.”

Earlier this year Propagate secured investment from global merchant bank The Raine Group to take it to the next level. It currently has 17 series in production and 40 projects in development at over 21 networks and streaming services. This year saw its first straight-to-series scripted order, Blood & Treasure, for CBS; a new production of Charmed for The CW; and a second season order for Lore for Amazon Prime.

In the coming year, Propagate said it plans to expand its worldwide production, distribution and digital businesses, including the formation of an IP incubation hub. It will also launch business units in Latin America, Asia, India and the Middle East.

“Greg’s successful career as a packaging agent combined with his more recent experience on the production side makes him an ideal executive to oversee Propagate’s day-to-day operations,” said Silverman and Owens.

“As we look to expand our global production imprint and continue to launch new creative ventures, his relationships, creative instincts, business acumen and understanding of international markets will make him a huge asset.”
