Lionsgate ups TV exec duo

US studio Lionsgate has promoted two executives in its television arm to new roles, including a new lead for its scripted development.

Scott Herbst

Scott Herbst will be head of scripted development for Lionsgate’s Television Group, while Jocelyn Sabo has been made senior VP of television.

Herbst will continue to report to Lionsgate Television Group chairman Kevin Beggs, in the role that will have him overseeing the development of Lionsgate scripted series across broadcast, cable and streaming platforms.

He and his team are responsible for identifying and developing premium content for an array of buyers and leveraging the company’s production partnerships, including its 3 Arts Entertainment and Point Grey Pictures relationships.

Prior to Lionsgate, Herbst served as VP of scripted programming for NBCUniversal International. He also worked at Lakeshore Films as VP of development.

Jocelyn Sabo

Sabo, a Liongate veteran, is described as “one of the Company’s fastest rising stars” and helped to bring in Orange is The New Black. She previously worked at Showtime Networks.

The announcement comes as Lionsgate continues to increase its development and production slate.

Projects in the works include Zoey’s Extraordinary’s Playlist, Love Life, the John Wick film franchise, The Continental, Mythic Quest: Raven’s Banquet, Fall & Rise, The Kingkiller Chronicle, Dangerous Liaisons and Power spin-off Power Book II: Ghost.
