Lifestyle presenter McGillivray starts prodco

Canadian producer/presenter Scott McGillivray has launched his own production company, which has already secured its first commission.

McGillivray Entertainment is based in Toronto and will focus on original non-scripted lifestyle and factual entertainment shows for the Canadian and international markets.

The prodco will produce across all platforms and will be part of the McGillivray Group, which oversees the interests of the producer/presenter.

McGillivray is best known as host and exec producer of HGTV Canada series Income Property, currently airing on HGTV and DIY Network in Canada and the US, as well as in more than 30 other countries.

Its first show to be greenlit is Moving the McGillivrays (working title, 10×60′), which is being produced for HGTV Canada and follows the McGillivray family as they plan and build a new home.

“We have spent the past year developing concepts that we feel will resonate with television and online audiences in Canada and around the world,” McGillivray said.

Meanwhile, HGTV Canada has also ordered Bryan Inc (13×60′), from Si Entertainment, which follows Bryan and Sarah Baeumler as they buy, renovate and sell homes for profit. Both new shows will air in 2016
