Liars to end on Freeform

Pretty Little Liars

Pretty Little Liars is coming to an end

Disney-owned cablenet Freeform has cancelled teen series Pretty Little Liars (PLL) after seven seasons.

The channel, formerly known as ABC Family before a rebrand, announced the news via a Facebook Live post from showrunner I Marlene King and the show’s stars.

PLL is set for its midseason finale today, with the second half – consisting of 10 episodes – returning in April. The show also helped to launch King’s forthcoming drama Famous in Love.

“Pretty Little Liars paved the way for television shows, writers and cast to interact and engage with audiences on a national and global scale like never before, which led the series to unparalleled success,” said Freeform exec VP of programming and development Karey Burke.

The programme is produced by Alloy Entertainment and Warner Horizon Television, and is executive produced by King, Charlie Craig, Joseph Dougherty, Oliver Goldstick and Leslie Morgenstein.
