Richard Cook begins his new role on November 17 and is tasked with building the New York firm’s lifestyle slate and expanding it into new genres, with a particular focus on character-driven docusoaps, formats and factual entertainment.

Among the firm’s formats are HGTV’s House Hunters International, Man Caves for DIY and The Filthy Rich Guide for CNBC.

While at Pulse, Cook was responsible for formats such as ITV’s The Cruise Ship and Channel 4’s Pro-Gamers.

Prior to that role, he was head of television at 10 Group where he made Ask Simon for Skype with Simon Cowell and a series of shortform content set at the Jay-Z curated Made in America Festival in Philadelphia, also for Skype.

Cook will report to Argonon CEO James Burstall, who said: “Rich is a dynamic, clever, mischievous creative with an impressive track record. We are excited to bring him to New York to work with us.”
