Left/Right preps baseball cheating doc

Red Arrow Studios-owned US prodco Left/Right is working on a documentary about baseball’s latest cheating scandal, based on a new sports podcast franchise.

Podcast producer Cadence13 is launching a series of documentary podcasts looking in depth at people and stories from the world of sport.

The first season focuses on the Houston Astros, who went from being Minor League Baseball also-rans to 2017 World Series champions but were found to have broken the rules by using technology to read ‘signs’ from opposing pitchers and inform the batter what pitch was coming next.

The sign-stealing scandal will be covered by journalist Ben Reiter, who covered the Astros, and produced by Leon Neyfakh and Andrew Parsons, co-creators of the award-winning podcasts Slow Burn and Fiasco.

A TV series based on the podcast is also in development by Left/Right, a Red Arrow Studios company, along with Reiter, Leon Neyfakh’s Prologue Projects and Steven Fisher’s Underground Entertainment.
