Cat Lawson has been named creative director of Glitterbox and will report to Studio Lambert CEO Stephen Lambert in her new role.

Glitterbox will have its own development staff but will also collaborate with the existing Studio Lambert development team and its creative director, Tim Harcourt.

All3Media-owned Studio Lambert recently made its first foray into shiny-floor shows with dating programme Naked Attraction for UK broadcaster Channel 4. “We’ve been developing some big new studio entertainment ideas recently and, now we have Cat on board, we look forward to honing them with her and taking them out to market,” said Lambert.

Lawson has been head of entertainment at TwoFour for the last two years, having previously worked on in-house production at the BBC.

Most recently, she was one of the executive producers on ITV Davina McCall show This Time Next Year. She has also been executive producing Dating in the Dark for ITV2.

Lawson’s other credits include the last two seasons of The Jump for Channel 4, The X Factor, Celebrity Big Brother, The Million Pound Drop and Who Wants to be a Millionaire?. She began her career at ITV, working on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, Dancing on Ice, Hell’s Kitchen and Love Island.

“I have been wanting to run my own operation for some time now and working with the Studio Lambert team is very attractive because of their great track record in creating UK formats and then making them into hits on US television,” said Lawson.

In the US, Glitterbox formats will be produced by Studio Lambert’s LA operation run by its president, Greg Goldman, together with the All3Media America production team.
