Lagardère picks up Flemish noir

Brothers United

DeMensen’s football drama Brothers United

France’s Lagardère Studios Distribution has agreed to represent two of Flemish production company deMensen’s forthcoming dramas internationally.

Lagardère Studios Distribution will handle worldwide sales outside of Flemish Belgium and the Netherlands for Beau Sejour (10×52’),a noir thriller directed by Nathalie Basteyns and Kaat Beels.

The show, for Belgian net Eén, follows a murdered woman who comes back to life to find her killer but who can only be seen by a few people.

Brothers United (10×52’), produced for VTM, is directed by Gijs Polspoel and Jeroen Dumoulein and is a coming-of-age series centered on the powerful bond between two brothers chasing their dreams of becoming footballers.

Lagardère has been ramping up its distribution arm and ratcheted up its drama sales efforts last month by adding an array of shows from indie producers.
