La Sexta gives Chicote series second course

The first run of ¿Te lo vas a Comer? was La Sexta’s best launch in four years

Spanish broadcaster La Sexta has ordered a second season of its factual entertainment show ¿Te lo vas a Comer? (Are You Going to Eat It?), featuring popular local chef Alberto Chicote.

The show follows Chicote (Top Chef) as he investigates public criticism of food quality and hygiene and safety standards at venues across Spain.

The series is from Banijay Group-owned Cuarzo Producciones, with the latter’s Juan Ramón Gonzalo and Margarita Luis exec producing. Banijay Rights sells globally.

The first season averaged 1.9 million viewers and was La Sexta’s best launch in four years with a slot average increase of 75%, according to Banijay.

The second season will follow Chicote as he explores the culinary worlds of disabled centres, universities, the military, schools and elite sport centres, amongst other places.
