KT Corp, Wowow wowed by ITV content

ITV and Amazon coproduction Vanity Fair

ATF: The distribution arm of UK commercial broadcaster ITV has secured a number of deals at ATF here in Singapore, including an output deal with Korean IPTV platform KT Corp for almost 200 hours of content.

KT Corp has renewed its deal with ITV Studios Global Entertainment (ITVSGE), securing 180 hours of scripted and unscripted content such as Vanity Fair and How to Get Rich Quick. Also included in the package are dramas Victoria and Endeavour, produced by ITV Studios-owned Mammoth Screen, and Big Media-produced nature series Life Cycles.

Elsewhere, South Korea’s Channel A has pre-bought Mammoth Screen’s forthcoming adaptation of The War of the Worlds, which is coproduced by Creasun Media in association with Red Square. It has also picked up Vanity Fair and factual shows Taste of Marley, produced by Cult Nation & Telegramme Media for Noovo Group, and ITV Studios Daytime-produced Schofield’s South African Adventure.

In Japan, premium pay broadcaster Wowow has acquired season five of Endeavour, while its subsidiary Wowow Plus has taken a range of new and returning dramas such as Silverprint Pictures’ Dark Heart, Tall Story Pictures-produced Bancroft and seasons four of Poldark and Endeavour. Tohokushinsha Film Corp has acquired season three of Thunderbirds Are Go, an ITV Studios and Pukeko Pictures production in association with Weta Workshop.

The deals were brokered by ITVSGE’s Hyeonza Hong, senior VP of sales in Asia, and Camelia Mowbray, sales manager for New Zealand and Japan.
