Klepper swaps shows on Comedy Central

Viacom-owned US cablenet Comedy Central has cancelled its late-night show with Jordan Klepper after one season but commissioned another series fronted by the stand-up comic.

Jordan Klepper

The Opposition with Jordan Klepper has aired for 120 episodes since debuting last year but will conclude with its June 28 instalment.

The comedian’s new show, Klepper (working title), has again been created by the host. It will be executive produced by Stuart Miller and Kim Gamble along with exec producer and co-creator Trevor Noah.

The series will see Klepper introduce a new character to the audience and interview people outside of the studio about a range of issues affecting the US.

Klepper previously worked on The Daily Show and has been behind specials including Jordan Klepper Solves Guns, which aired last year and explored gun control.

Production on Klepper will begin in July and the show will premiere on Comedy Central in 2019.
