Kino Lorber adds Like Me in US

Like Me made its debut at this year’s SXSW Film Festival

New York-based distributor Kino Lorber has acquired US rights to Like Me, a psychedelic thriller about social media obsession.

Written and directed by Robert Mockler, Like Me had its world premiere at this year’s SXSW Film Festival in the narrative feature competition back in March.

It is produced by Larry Fessenden, James Belfer, Robert Mockler, Jessalyn Abbott and Jenn Wexler.

Starring Addison Timlin (Little Sister), Ian Nelson (The Hunger Games) and indie horror veteran Larry Fessenden (Habit), Like Me sees a loner broadcast a crime she commits on social media before embarking on a spree of chaos as followers tune in.

Kino Lorber is planning a theatrical release in January followed by a VoD release in March 2018.

The US rights deal was negotiated by Wendy Lidell, Kino Lorber’s senior VP, theatrical and non-theatrical distribution and acquisitions, and Scott Freije at XYZ Films.
