Kingsley’s Lavender preps Cousin Bazilio

Ben Kingsley’s Lavender Pictures has teamed with UK producer and financier Nevision on a drama titled Cousin Bazilio.

The series, based on the 1878 novel by Portuguese author Eca de Queiroz, is being adapted for TV by McLevy writer David Ashton.

Set in Lisbon, Cousin Bazilio (2×90’) follows the battle between an embittered maid and her employer, a beautiful, but bored, housewife, whose volatile affair with her cousin sets off a train of dramatic consequences.

Gandhi star Kingsley will also appear in the series, which is being coproduced by Lavender and Nevision.
