KiKA bags Peek Zoo

ZDF-owned free-to-air German children’s channel KiKA has acquired new animation series Peek Zoo from Monster Entertainment.

Peek Zoo (26×7’) is based on a children’s book series and follows the life of zookeeper Mr Peek and his children Jimmy and Violet, who solve problems and mysteries with the help of the animals in the zoo. The series is aimed at 4-8 year-olds and produced by Igloo Films in Ireland.

The series was originally commissioned by Irish pubcaster RTÉ, and has been picked up by SRF in Switzerland, YLE in Finland, Fauna in Turkey and Azoomee in the UK, with additional sales under negotiation.

Sebastian Debertin, head of acquisitions and coproductions at ARD/ZDF KiKA, said: “Peek Zoo is a truly charming and funny series that will entertain the KiKA audience.”
