KidsCo claims Sendokai

International children’s broadcaster KidsCo has picked up the animated adventure toon Sendokai Champions.

The 26×12’ series, distributed by Nottingham Forest Media Advisors, is aimed at six- to nine-year-olds and is coproduced by Kotoc and Spanish pubcaster TVE. It follows the adventures of four 13-year-olds who must learn the art of Sendokai to save the Earth.

It will air on KidsCo’s Syfy Kids programming block in October as a first-run series across Central and Eastern Europe, South-East Asia, South Africa and parts of Sub-Saharan Africa.

The block, which was announced in February, is a collaboration between NBCUniversal, which owns both KidsCo and cablenet Syfy, and Corus Entertainment in Canada, which also has a stake in the kidscaster.

The dubbed block is aimed at 6-10s and airs at peak viewing times, including programmes such as Matt Hatter Chronicles, ZuZu & the Supernuffs.

Hendrik McDermott, MD of KidsCo, said: “The series underpins the core values and personality of Syfy Kids – pushing the boundaries of reality, fantasy and creativity and is sure to spark the imagination of children across the globe.”
