Kidoodle.TV to stock up on content

Children’s ad-supported VoD service Kidoodle.TV is increasing its content offering as it experiences a surge in usage during the coronavirus pandemic.

Usage of the service spiked in March, with an increase in views of more than 60% compared with the previous month, the Canada-based firm said.

The company now plans to increase its content offering beyond its current library of more than 20,000 episodes. Among the new titles it has acquired is Nelvana’s Miss Persona (51×3′), which guides kids through the many ‘firsts’ of being a preschooler, such as getting jealous for the first time and learning to share.

Kidoodle.TV has also taken the recently produced special episode of Miss Persona, Teddy Bear Kindergarten is Cancelled, which teaches kids ways to be helpful inside the house.

“As a child-focused company and with families of our own, we are extremely aware of the challenges currently facing families around the world, many of whom have lost or reduced incomes due to current circumstances and many of whom are trying to care for children at home while schools and child-care options are closed,” said Michael Lowe, CEO of Kidoodle.TV owner APMC.

“A recent, significant increase in usage across our service is telling us that parents are in need of a helpful hand, and we’re committed to providing it.”

The streaming service has also rolled out a new resource entitled Helpful Hands, a weekly e-resource delivered to parents that includes a round-up of educational services, entertainment options and physical and emotional health resources.
