Keshet’s Star rises in north

A Nordic producer has picked up the rights to produce local versions of the new Israeli format Rising Star from Keshet International.

Banijay Group-owned Nordisk Film TV has secured a deal with Keshet for the interactive talent show, which debuted on Channel 2 in Israel last month.

The agreement between Keshet International, the global distribution and production arm of Keshet Media Group, and Banijay International, the sales and acquisitions arm of Banijay Group, covers Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland.

The format is also set to be adapted in Germany, France and Russia.

“Entertainment shows are popular in the Nordic territories and our audiences demand the most exciting, modern and riveting formats,” said Jacob Houlind, CEO of Nordic Group, Nordisk Film TV.
