Assaf Blecher had most recently been MD at Keshet DCP, Keshet International’s joint venture with Dick Clark, but will now move from LA, where he has been for more than a decade, to Tel Aviv. He takes up the new role in February, reporting to Keshet Media Group CEO Avi Nir.

Blecher will be charged with the development of non-scripted content such as game, entertainment and reality shows and work alongside Keshet Broadcasting’s VP of programming, Hilik Sharir.

He began his career with DCP in 2005 as development manager and was VP of development and programming for TV and digital at DCP while also overseeing Keshet DCP, where he managed programming and development for the past two years.

Keshet DCP’s shows include gameshow BOOM!, which aired on Fox in 2015, and interactive talent show Rising Star, which aired on ABC in 2014.

Keshet said the relationship “continues to thrive” and added that several new projects are in development for the 2016 US pilot season.

Nir said: “Assaf’s experience in the US and UK, combined with his Israeli background, will be invaluable to us as we continue Keshet and Keshet International’s momentum in creating new, ground-breaking shows, both locally and internationally.”

It’s been a busy week for Keshet, which bolstered its scripted team yesterday with the addition of a former Kudos exec and earlier agreed a first-look deal with UK factual indie Woodcut Media.
