Keshet meets Seven’s Secret Bridesmaids

Israeli distributor Keshet International has partnered with Australia’s Seven Studios to take drama Secret Bridesmaids’ Business to Mipcom next month.

Secret Bridesmaids’ Business

Produced for Seven Network by Seven Studios, Secret Bridesmaids’ Business is a 6×60′ returning romantic thriller due to premiere later this month on Australia’s Channel Seven.

Based on the stage play written by Elizabeth Coleman and directed by Tori Garrett and Jennifer Perrott, the series sees a bride’s perfect wedding turn deadly after one of the bridesmaids unwittingly invites a malevolent stranger into their lives.

It is exec produced by MaryAnne Carroll and series produced by Amanda Crittenden and stars Alexander England (Alien: Covenant), Dan Spielman (Deep Water), Oliver Ackland (The Originals), Annie Jones (Neighbours) and Nicholas Bell (A Place to Call Home).

Also on Keshet’s Mipcom slate is a number of other scripted and non-scripted titles.

A second Australian scripted drama is Black B*tch, a 6×60′ finished tape and format produced by Blackfella Films for ABC. Directed by Rachel Perkins, Black B*itch is a story of high stakes ambition, betrayal and treachery, played out in the Australian Outback. It premieres on ABC in October.

A third drama is The Trial of Christine Keeler, a 6×60′ series retelling of the Profumo Affair – one of the most controversial UK political sex scandals of modern times. It is produced by Ecosse Films and Great Meadow Productions for BBC1 and is slated to premiere on the UK pubcaster next year. Amanda Coe is writer, while Andrea Harkin directs.

Keshet is also taking controversial series Our Boys to Mipcom. A copro from Keshet Studios and HBO, the 10×60′ series is based on events that led to the outbreak of the 2014 Gaza war. Earlier this month, Our Boys was blasted by Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu. France’s Canal+ picked up the series earlier this month.

Meanwhile in the non-scripted space, Singletown is a reality series produced by Keshet Productions for ITV2 in the UK. The 15×60′ programme follows five couples as they test their relationships by spending the summer apart as singletons.

Drive Master is a 10×120′ vehicle stunt talent show produced by Weit Media for Russia’s NTV, while Head Hunters is a 30×60′ quiz show produced by Tuesday’s Child for BBC1.

In fact ent, Dom Does America is a 10×60′ series from Flicker for BBC1, which follows TV presenter Dom Littlewood as he immerses himself for 24 hours in the most dangerous institutions in the US.

Finally, Killer Camp is a 5×60′ horror-themed reality competition series from Tuesday’s Child for ITV2.
