Keshet crafts party show for CBBC

Mesibat Yetzira (Craft Party) is produced by Nutz Productions in Israel

CBBC in the UK has commissioned an adaptation of Nutz Productions’ Israeli format Craft Party from the local production arm of Keshet International (KI).

Produced by Keshet Productions (KP), the 20×15′ commission will be broadcast as two 10×15′ seasons and features a team of nine- to 12-year-old crafters who create art and food for a themed party.

Themes for each episode range from contemporary interests like slime, emojis, unicorns and music festivals to classics such as pirates, monsters, space, superheroes and safaris.

Known in Israel as Mesibat Yetzira, the series is created by Bonit Ben Ami and Shirley Oran, directed by Roy Shalem and produced by Nutz Productions, a subsidiary of Ananey Communications Group. KI established an ongoing content partnership with the latter in 2017.

The programme debuted exclusively on Nick Jr on the Hot cable network in August 2017 and is due to enter its fourth season later this month.

The UK version was commissioned by Cheryl Taylor, BBC Children’s head of content, with David Williams, KP’s MD of non-scripted, serving as executive producer.

Nick Hutchings (Help! My Supply Teacher Is Magic, Art Ninja) is series producer and writer alongside series director Matt Pothecary. KI is distributing the series internationally.
