Kan visits Old People’s Home

Old People’s Home for Four Year Olds began on Channel 4 in the UK

Israeli pubcaster Kan has commissioned a local version of hit format Old People’s Home for Four Year Olds.

The show, which is now in production with Red Arrow Studios-backed July August Productions, will see 10 senior residents of the Bait Bakfar care home in the central district of Israel brought together with 10 four-year-olds for six weeks.

The series is set to premiere on Kan later this year and is based on the original format that was created and produced by CPL Productions for Channel 4 in the UK, which recently completed its second season.

Red Arrow Studios International distribute the format, which has been sold to countries including France, Spain, the Netherlands, Sweden, Australia and Germany, where Vox recently ordered a second season.

Tal Fraifeld, VP of programming at Kan, said: “Looking after our elderly is a pressing social issue and this format is a radical way of bringing the generations together for mutual benefit. We can’t wait to see the results of the experiment and share them with Kan viewers.”

Last month Kan recommissioned a second season of July August Productions’ sitcom Checkout!, which is also distributed by Red Arrow Studios International.
