Kabo to revive French classic

MIPCOM: French producer and distributor Kabo has picked up the international distribution rights to shelved entertainment format Best Host Ever.

Originally created by French prodco R&G Productions, the show (also known as Le Grand Tralala) was a hit when it first launched on pubcaster France 2 in 2000. It was also licenced to Spain.

The variety format involves a string of presenters attempting to host a primetime studio entertainment show without being told what it involves or given any instructions, and trying to hold the programme together.

Under the agreement, Kabo distribution arm Kabo International will relaunch the format for worldwide distribution.

Kabo International is looking to expand its catalogue with hand-picked third-party formats from a wide range of genres, including gameshows, factual and primetime entertainment.

In September the company picked up international distribution rights to fellow shelved gameshow format Who’s Who? from UK format creators Rose Bay Media and Noel Gay Television.
