Job Description:

Overview of Role:
The Manager, Rights Management & Analysis performs legal analysis and manages the process of accurate review and rights management entry of Acquisition, Production, Element and Program Sales deals for all AMCN businesses. These actions require an in-depth knowledge of complex media rights, review of license terms, and problem-solving skills, all within a quick turnaround time. This is a high-volume area.

The position is critical to multiple departments within the company such as Scheduling, Program Operations, Legal, Finance, Program Sales, and Royalty Accounting.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform legal review and rights interpretation of all internal deal memos and Agreements
  • Manage the process of capturing those rights and terms into our rights management system
  • Coordinate with the team on resolving any issues
  • Update systems as needed to reflect contract changes
  • Meet deadlines for entry as set by Department Head
  • Provide management with rights availability reports, perform rights research, complete ad hoc projects, and customize reports as needed by International, Legal, Finance, Scheduling and Program Sales divisions
  • Contribute ideas and suggestions on how to improve process and recommend enhancements

Job Requirements:

Qualifications (Required & Preferred)
  • 4 to 5 years’ prior experience working at a television network, cable network, film studio, television distribution company, a law firm or similar business that specializes in entertainment/media transactions
  • Superior knowledge of multiplatform media rights and experience reviewing and interpreting complex Agreements
  • Must have media rights database experience
  • Candidate should have highly developed analytical skills
  • Proficient in all aspects of MS Office
  • There is a high level of productivity and accuracy required in the Position
  • Must be detail oriented
  • Have an ability and willingness to work independently as well as within a team environment
  • The position is service-oriented so excellent interpersonal communication skills are necessary as is an ability to discuss reports, data and issues with individuals at all levels of company
