Job Description:

An award-winning, global factual TV production and distribution company is looking for a business affairs administrator to join their team in London or Bristol. 
Their extensive slate includes science and engineering, history, factual entertainment and they specialise in blue-chip natural history.

The role could be a remote working situation / work from home – as most of the team work this way in the UK office. You would need to be close enough to London or Bristol to meet with the Group COO very regularly / as necessary.

Experience working for a TV Producer and/or distributor is necessary. A good understanding of television rights and experience with a rights management system would be ideal. Experience reviewing, drafting and marking up network agreements would be advantageous.

Your workload would include tasks for all 3 offices.

Key areas of responsibility:
Contract management
  • Contract negotiation on simpler agreements with existing clients and on more complicated projects you would work with the business affairs expert and sales executives on negotiations
  • You would need to deal with a variation of contracts from network licence agreements, distribution agreements, through to shoot logistics agreements for crew, talent, equipment rental, SLAs, Leases, etc.
  • Draft/ review contracts
  • Maintenance of all company legal records

Rights Management
  • Maintain the rights management system
  • Provide availability reports to the sales team and other departments who required rights information

Risk Management
  • Oversee and review production policies and insurance requirements on each production in conjunction with the Head of Production Management

General Administration
  • There is a lot of team work required – you would need to help the teams cross check documents and deliverables for accuracy
  • You would be required to maintain an accurate database of all the company’s clients, key service providers, contracting parties
