Responsibilities
Perform heavy analysis for development spend tracking and forecasting.
  • Prepare earnings statements for senior management, including Business Affairs and Legal
  • Ensure payment authorizations are processed in accordance with deal terms
  • Track individual targets for increases and bonuses to be covered in the forecast
  • Review overall agreements for appropriate charge-offs to productions
  • Collaborate with Production Accounting and Business Affairs on open items as needed
  • Identify over-recoupment positions in advance to adjust forecast and notify teams
  • Produce quarterly commitment report, identifying new and revised projections
  • Manage credited earnings and unrecouped guarantee allocation statements for Participations
  • Prepare write-off projections for term deals and review with senior management
  • Ad hoc analysis as needed

Perform operational duties related to development spend.
  • Input all term deals, including recoupments and network reimbursables, in the system
  • Insure that all agreements and cost basis of agreements are documented
  • Clarify agreements and resolve inconsistencies
  • Audit and code payment authorization
  • Reconcile contractual payments and recoupments
  • Journal appropriate charge-offs and initiate cost transfers to production
  • Review for adjustments from prior years, as needed
  • Track and report expiring and pending deals
  • Monitor spend against policy limits
  • Book write-off entries and inactivate projects.

Assist with additional Finance department duties, as needed.

Job Requirements:

  • Degree in Finance or Accounting
  • 5-7 years progressively responsible experience in finance or accounting.  Entertainment industry experience is a plus, but not mandatory
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, and ability to communicate well with all levels of management
  • Strength in math and performing in-depth analysis
  • Must be able to thrive well in an extremely busy and varied environment and meet deadlines
  • Proficient in MS Office; Word/Excel/Outlook
  • PeopleSoft & Microsoft Access experience desirable
