Job Description:

Viasat World Limited are looking for a Head of Marketing & PR (fixed-term contract). The position will be based at our office in Chiswick, West London and is a full-time position working Monday - Friday 9am to 5.30pm on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

Roles & Responsibilities
The Head of Marketing & PR is responsible for all marketing, PR and corporate communications activities for Viasat World across CEE, Nordics, Africa, USA and Canada. The Head of Marketing  & PR manages a central team in London as well as the team of local marketing & PR people across CEE.

The Head of Marketing & PR plays a pivotal role within the company; working closely with several departments:
  • Distribution and sales team to ensure all activities support the distribution and sales strategy
  • Programming and Planning departments to develop channel brands and strategies that deliver on ratings and other performance KPl's
  • Creative & On-Air team to deliver creative excellency and consistency across on air and off air for all campaigns
  • Senior Management Team to develop the corporate communications strategy

Key metrics for this role are:
  • Channel performance (ratings, share) Commercial success (ad sales & distribution) Budget Management
  • Team Management

Main Duties
Marketing & Programme PR
  • Develop B-2-B and B-2-C Marketing & Programme PR Strategy for the portfolio of channels and products to support business objectives
  • Support Distribution - have a thorough understanding of channel and SVOD distribution of the portfolio
  • Enabling the sales team to meet their commercial objectives by providing them with appropriate tools and materials and attend pitches and negotiations where appropriate
  • Support Ad Sales - have a thorough understanding of ad sales and audience metrics in especially Poland. Develop marketing strategy to increase reach and ratings
  • Develop Marketing & Programme PR calendar in conjunction with Programming, Planning and Sales and Distribution Department to ensure all activities are aligned
  • Work together with the local marketing and sales teams to develop and execute local marketing plans that support the business needs, especially marketing activities in conjunction with operators
  • Manage and oversee the development and execution of all marketing materials, created centrally or in region and ensure all materials are on brand, of a high quality, in line with the marketing strategy and shared between teams
  • Develop and execute centrally led digital marketing & PR strategy (websites, social media)
  • Manage all systems and processes needed to create, share and evaluate campaigns, materials and marketing collateral
  • Manage and review roster of agencies across all regions
  • Undertake continuous analysis of competitive environment and consumer trends

Corporate Communications
  • Develop and execute corporate communications strategy, to position Viasat World as a leading European Media company and improve recognition
  • Monitor Viasat World's presence and reputation in trade press
  • Develop and maintain all corporate collateral materials, including the corporate website, presentations, key messages, etc.
  • Crisis Management

Team Management
  • Manage the Marketing & PR team in London (currently 4 people)
  • Manage the Marketing team in region in close collaboration with the local Country Managers (matrix organisation)
  • Ensure all team members are fully aware of business goals like sales and performance targets, key negotiations and distribution needs and execute on the marketing & PR strategy
  • Develop and mentor team members to create a centre of marketing and PR excellence

Budget Management
  • Set the annual Marketing & PR budget for all regions in close collaboration with local teams
  • Manage the budget, ensuring PO's are raised and financial  guidelines are adhered to

Ad Hoc
  • Work on any other projects as and when required
  • Travel when necessary

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in marketing or CIM or equivalent degree
  • Proven track record in senior marketing and PR positions in media, ideally in CEE territories
  • Extensive experience with B-2-B marketing, successfully supporting sales teams across multiple territories
  • Extensive experience and understanding of B-2-C marketing and PR with a track record of campaigns that have increased viewership/sales or equivalent KPls
  • Extensive experience with corporate communications
  • Extensive experience and understanding of digital marketing
  • Experienced in cross cultural management
  • Computer literate, especially in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Desirable: language skills in one of the languages covered by Viasat World
