And that’s not all, BBC Studios are a committed partner to the UK’s thriving independent production community, as well as other broadcasters and digital platforms, delivering content that showcases the best of British and Global talent, stamped with the hallmark of quality.  Our content encompasses a uniquely broad range of specialisms from Entertainment, Music, and Live Events to Natural History, Drama, Comedy, and now Children’s & Education.

The Global Distribution team has a newly created opportunity for an exceptional Sales Director to join on a permanent basis. This role will partner with the Children's production team and will work alongside incredible brands like Bluey, Hey Duggee, and our exciting portfolio. You will lead commercial activity and placement of the most trusted children’s brands in the industry to secure commissions, funding, co-productions, and oversee deals across all key markets.

Main Responsibilities

Develop new sales and commercial opportunities by leading and taking direct ownership of the Children's portfolio sales capability.  Implement the portfolio sales strategy and achieve agreed sales targets, ensuring that all programmes and/or associated products are presented and where possible sold.

You will be a key member and stakeholder of the BBCS Kids team in setting and driving Studios' Global Kids Strategy.

Enable new business activity, collaborate with the wider business development teams across all lines of business to execute the strategy in the market, scope out and open up new opportunities.

Lead the overall line of business revenue for the children’s portfolio across co-productions, commissions, and tape sale activity across major markets, Global, Multi Territory, US, France, and Germany. Working alongside regional sales teams in all other key markets like China, Australia, etc to ensure the overall strategy for the Children’s portfolio is deployed and supported from the centre.

Drive and support the capability building of sales efforts across the Global Distribution and Content Sales teams with best practice approaches from customer management, insight curation, pitching, negotiating, contracting, and key after-sales service with brands, marketing, and consumer products teams across all high-value accounts.

Negotiate the best possible space and terms with the most desirable partners to ensure that the ancillary rights achieve their maximum revenue potential, working with relevant people at all stages.

Oversee the coordination of the cross-media campaigns on Global Brands titles in the market to ensure maximum synergy is derived from the mix of partners and their activities across all verticals.

Lead projects that require funding and market those in the territory as co-productions, halo projects, reach or footfall drivers. Initiate and conclude these deals.

Ensure that all contracts concluded are profitable to the business, monitoring at all stages. Develop and oversee the development of Key Accounts and ensure these are kept current, and implemented to drive additional value from major customer relationships and so each client is properly serviced.

Manage the accurate and timely presentation of up-to-date Sales dashboards to senior management to keep them up to date with activity.

Oversee the timely completion of all demands for sales projections as appropriate to the content, customer, and market. Working alongside the Content, Production, and Global Distribution Central HQ teams. Maintain on a regular basis sales and client feedback.

Indirectly manage and oversee the capabilities of sales teams driving children’s sales in other markets.

Job Requirements:

You will demonstrate collaborative communication and influencing skills, encouraging those around you to engage and deliver against stretching objectives.
