Job Description:

BASIC FUNCTION
This position serves as the internal business contact for all Original Programming and Operations for AMC and AMC Studios linear and SVOD programming. The Manager is responsible for ensuring contractual delivery compliance and production milestone and triggers are satisfied for payment processing. This position is responsible for accurate reporting and integration of AMC’s operating budgets. This position will also work closely with accounting to reconcile all expenses related to the AMC Studios, AMC Networks and SVOD platforms Owned Original Productions, identifying which costs are related to the production and the studio ensuring all costs are accounted for correctly. Responsibilities include the following: Processing and tracking contracts and contractual payments, assisting with the preparation of the quarterly forecasts and the year-end close, coding and processing of all AMC Studios productions invoices.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage the production accounting procedures for AMC Studios and AMC Networks and SVOD platforms owned, licensed, acquired programming whether short form, long form, in development and in production
  • Establish process with production executives to verify independent contractor services have been rendered and appropriate production milestone triggers have been met for payment processing
  • Process and track all contractual payments for Contractual Rights and Production Direct for AMC Studios, linear and SVOD programming
  • Manage the payment process of union writers working in development by setting up each project with the external payroll services company, providing appropriate payroll documentation needed, submitting timecards, approving payroll edits verifying correct guild fees and taxes were calculated
  • Process all Production and Programming Operations vendor invoices ensuring contractual precedents and/or services rendered have been met
  • Work in conjuncture with the Programming Inventory dept on ensuring the contractual rights information, deal terms and payment structures for all AMC Studios, AMC Networks and SVOD platforms are appropriately monitored in the FilmTrack Database
  • Prepare monthly cash and amort reconciliation reports and provide reports to management
  • Establish relationships with third party production companies and vendors respond to payment status or billing inquiries and resolve any payment issues
  • Calculate and process accruals for AMC Studios, AMC Networks and SVOD platforms Contractual Rights, Production Direct, Programming Operations and Production General & Administration on a monthly basis
  • Confer with key internal departments on all pertinent information regarding contract points and budgets (including talent requirements, license terms, payment schedules, tech specifications)
  • Provide weekly/monthly reports on budgets, general financial, contract and production status

Job Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS
1. Technical/Functional Competencies
  • Thorough knowledge of industry standards
  • Strong knowledge in Movie Magic, Microsoft XP, Monarch & Oracle
  • Strong negotiating skills

2. Key Experiences/Achievements
  • 5+ years related experience (including production budgeting and contract administration)
  • College degree required
  • Established relationships in the industry
  • Successful management and negotiation/contractual process
