Since its founding in 1997, The Asylum has released more than 500 films and has built a library of over 250 original productions, including top-rated programs for Netflix, SYFY, Lifetime, Ion Television, Animal Planet, as well as Hallmark Channel, Sony Television, BET, and Universal TV. The Asylum’s apocalyptic thriller BLACK SUMMER was the #1 scripted series on its release on Netflix. And its critically-acclaimed action-horror series, Z NATION, is one of SYFY’s longest-running and highest-rated.

In 2018 the company launched The Asylum – an ad-supported entertainment network. With over three million hours watched per month, The Asylum is one of the top-rated OTT entertainment channels.

The Director of International Sales will report directly to the CEO and will manage two additional sales team members and liaise with the production, operations, and distribution teams. This position will lean heavily on foreign sales.

Responsibilities:
  • Initiate, negotiate, and close distribution deals for rights to made for TV movies, scripted and non-scripted TV series, and original content for digital platforms throughout the world
  • Establish and maintain relationships with US and International partners and maximizing sales with new and existing companies
  • Represent the Company at various film and television markets; including MIPCOM, Cannes, AFM, and NATPE
  • Identify new opportunities for sales in developing markets and new delivery systems
  • Work with the CEO to develop packaging and pricing strategies
  • Help develop product sales and packaging strategies to maximize revenue opportunities
  • With Senior Management, develop and adhere to budgets and strategies
  • Supervise and manage the creation of reports tracking sales, leads, and performance of the Company’s IP

Job Requirements:

Skills & Experience
  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Ideal candidate will have experience selling both feature-length films and TV series in the US and International
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred, but not required
  • Knowledge of new and legacy broadcasters and platforms, and an understanding of their programming strategies, local market conditions and trends, and emerging technologies
  • Ability to draft, review, and negotiate detailed contracts
  • Excellent customer relations skills and a drive to sell content
  • Willing to travel and work flexibly

Benefits
  • Salary is negotiable commensurate with experience, but the range is $80,000-$100,000, annually
