Jim Henson picks up Teddy, makes #Friends

Shellhut Entertainment’s #Friends is set to be delivered in 2021

The Jim Henson Company’s recently relaunched distribution arm has acquired the rights to two new series, including a remastered version of The Adventures of Teddy Ruxpin.

Henson Independent Properties has picked up the animated series which was created by Ken Forsse and is based on an animatronic toy teddy bear. The show originally aired in the 1980s.

Henson and Alchemy II, which owns the Teddy Ruxpin brand, have remastered the 65×22′ series in HD and are also developing a new CGI-animated preschool version.

The second series to be distributed by HIP is CGI show #Friends, a 52×11′ comedy aimed at six- to 11-year-olds.

From Thailand-based T&B Media Global, the series follows three kids, known as the Hash Taggers, on a mission to befriend alien youngsters across the universe.

Created by Dan Clark and Oscar Covar, #Friends is in production at Shellhut Entertainment for delivery in fall 2021.
