James Corden, Showtime make Wrong call

The original version of The Wrong Mans

US premium cablenet Showtime has ordered a pilot adapted from James Corden’s comedy-drama series The Wrong Mans.

The half-hour show was originally created by Corden and Matthew Baynton for UK pubcaster the BBC as a coproduction with US streamer Hulu.

The adaptation will be produced by Bad Robot and Corden’s Fulwell 73 Productions in association with BBC Studios (fka BBC Worldwide) and Warner Bros Television.

Corden and Baynton, who also starred in the original, will serve as writers and exec producers, while writer Ian Maxtone-Graham (The Simpsons) and director Jim Field Smith are also attached. Parks & Recreation’s Ben Schwartz will star in the pilot and will also produce.

The Wrong Mans sees two office workers become entangled in a web of crime and corruption after answering a phone at the scene of a car crash.
