ITVS Australia takes Fremantle’s Hart

ITV Studios (ITVS) Australia has appointed the creative director at FremantleMedia Australia (FMEA) as its head of content.

Beth Hart

Beth Hart will join ITVS down under on September 1 having worked in both the UK and Australia on entertainment shows such as The X Factor, Hell’s Kitchen and The Great Australian Bake Off as an executive producer.

Hart will be responsible for all ITVS-commissioned shows. ITVS Australia’s current head of content, Ben Ulm, will move to the newly created role of head of factual and reality following Hart’s arrival.

Ulm will continue to work on the Australian version of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, added Mott.

Hart joined FMEA in 2014 as director of television content before stepping up to creative director. Prior to that she was senior executive producer of The X Factor in the UK and deputy head of entertainment with Simon Cowell’s production company Syco.

She previously spent five years as an executive producer at ITVS in the UK running shows including I’m a Celebrity and Hell’s Kitchen.

David Mott, CEO and MD of ITVS Australia, said: “Beth’s experience is second to none having worked on some of the biggest entertainment formats both here in Australia and abroad.”

ITVS Australia’s slate also includes entertainment formats such as The Voice, The Chase Australia, Cram, Shaun Micallef’s Mad as Hell and Keeping Australia Safe.

Towards the end of 2016 ITVS Australia and fellow ITVS company The Garden entered into a co-development partnership to work on a number of programmes for Aussie broadcasters.
