ITVBe revisits Cheshire’s Housewives

The Real Housewives of Cheshire will return this autumn

UK female-skewing digital channel ITVBe has ordered an eighth season of reality series The Real Housewives of Cheshire.

The show follows the highs and lows of a group of glamorous ladies who move in Cheshire’s most exclusive social circles. The latest season, which airs in the autumn, will see two new housewives join the Cheshire clique.

The 10×60’ series is produced by NBCUniversal International Studios-owned UK prodco Monkey. It is exec produced by David Granger and Mike Swindells for Monkey and was recommissioned by Paul Mortimer, head of digital channels and acquisitions at ITV, and Amanda Stavri, the broadcaster’s commissioning editor for factual entertainment.

The show is a British spin-off from the US Real Housewives franchise, which has spawned series in Orange County, Beverly Hills, New Jersey, Atlanta, New York, Miami and Dallas among others.

NBCU International Formats recently took the franchise to South African broadcaster M-Net’s youth-skewing channel 1Magic.

Produced by independent prodco RHOSA, The Real Housewives of Johannesburg (12×60’) will mark the first official version in the country and the 13th international deal for the format overall.
