ITV2, Naked TV reveal Secret Crush

UK commercial broadcaster ITV2 has commissioned a dating show from Fremantle-owned Naked Television called Secret Crush.

Naked original format Secret Admirer has been adapted in the US and Europe

The series takes lovestruck singletons who have been harbouring feelings from afar and gives them the chance to reveal their hidden passion to the unknowing subject.

The 20×60’ series will feature four hopefuls in each episode as they find out whether the feelings are reciprocated or if the affection should have remained secret.

Secret Crush is based on the Naked original format Secret Admirer, which has been adapted by Fremantle a number of times in the US and Europe. It was commissioned for ITV2 by Paul Mortimer, head of digital channels and acquisitions, and Peter Tierney, commissioning editor for ITV2.

The commission is part of a busy 2020 for Naked, which appointed Channel 4 commissioner Fatima Salaria as its MD in July, replacing company founder Simon Andreae, who is stepping up to head Fremantle’s UK operations overall.

In September, the company grew when it merged with fellow Fremantle UK prodco Boundless.
