ITV renews Mr Selfridge

UK broadcaster ITV has commissioned a third season of period drama Mr Selfridge.

Filming for the new 10×60’ series will begin at ITV Studios in April as the show’s second season (currently airing) continues to draw in an average of 6.4 million viewers.

The drama, based on the life of the flamboyant American businessman who set up the famous London department store, airs on PBS in the US and has been sold around the world into nearly 100 countries by ITV Studios Global Entertainment.

Meanwhile, ITV has renewed sitcom Birds of a Feather for a second season. The channel revived the classic BBC sitcom created by Laurence Marks and Maurice Gran earlier this year following a 15-year break.
