ITV orders Innocent drama

UK commercial broadcaster ITV has commissioned a four-part drama series from writers Chris Lang and Matt Arlidge and their prodco TXTV.

Innocent tells the story of a man who spends seven years in prison after being convicted of murdering his wife. Having always protested his innocence, he is acquitted over a technicality and sets about restoring his reputation with his estranged family.

The drama will be produced by fellow TXTV founder Jeremy Gwilt and co-executive produced by Gwilt, Lang (Unforgotten, Undeniable, A Mother’s Son) and Arlidge (Undeniable, The Little House, Mistresses).

Richard Clark will direct the serial and filming begins this month. The programme was commissioned by ITV controller of drama Victoria Fea.
