ITV orders celebrity Catchphrase

UK commercial channel ITV1 has added a celebrity special to its reboot of classic gameshow Catchphrase.

The one-hour episode will feature three celebrities attempting to “say what they see” – identifying well-known phrases with the help of visual clues – to raise money for charity.

The new series of Catchphrase (8×45′) was commissioned last year by ITV’s controller of entertainment, John Kaye Cooper, and will be coproduced by STV Productions and distributor DRG.

The gameshow, created by Pasetta Productions, first appeared on British television in 1986 and ran until 2002.
