ITV meets new Quizmaster

UK commercial broadcaster ITV has commissioned a new format from London-based indie Spun Gold TV which pits champions of other television quiz shows against each other.

Quizmaster has been greenlit as a 1×90’ peak time special to be hosted by Jeremy Vine.

It will take 15 previous contestants of shows including Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?, Mastermind, The Chase, Fifteen to One and University Challenge and pit them against each other in rounds designed to test different aspects of their knowledge against the clock.

Contestants are eliminated each round, until just two remain to go head-to-head in a final.

Spun Gold, which has previously produced a slate of royal programming for ITV, is producing the show which was commissioned by Sue Murphy and Kate Teckman.

The format is being distributed internationally by All3Media International.
