ITV goes back to Spun Gold for more royals

Royal Babies

UK commercial broadcaster ITV has commissioned another royal-themed documentary from London-based indie Spun Gold TV.

Secrets of the Royal Babies is an hour-long special being produced in time for the forthcoming birth of Prince Harry and Meghan’s first child.

The doc explores what expectant mum Meghan can learn from royal mothers before her – from Queen Victoria through to Princess Diana and the most recent royal mum, the Duchess of Cambridge.

Interviewing historians, royal experts and insiders, the programme explores unusual royal birthing traditions, how to cope with the domestic politics of life with a royal nanny and to how to juggle mothering with royal duties.

The show is produced and directed by Anabelle Marshall and the exec producers are Bridget Boseley and Mira King. It was commissioned by ITV’s Jo Clinton Davis and Nicola Lloyd and it is being distributed internationally by All3Media International.

ITV and Spun Gold have developed a close relationship over royal programming in recent times leading the prodco’s founder Nick Bullen to launch a TrueRoyalty SVoD service for library content and fresh commissions.
