ITV draws up Chalkboard’s Britain

UK commercial broadcaster ITV has ordered a new comedy gameshow from local indie Chalkboard TV.

Don’t Ask Me Ask Britain (6×60′) will debut in April and is a live, interactive series that asks viewers to vote on opinion-based topics while a celebrity panel tries to second-guess what the audience at home will answer.

In related news, Chalkboard has secured a Channel 4 commission for a 60-minute documentary that will take viewers into a prison visiting room.

The Prison Visit (working title) will tell inmates’ stories through the people who come to visit them, using fixed-rig cameras during the prisoner’s weekly visits.

It was commissioned by C4 factual entertainment commissioning editor Ian Dunkley and will be executive produced by Mike Benson and Warwick Banks, with series producer Sue McGregor.
