ITV doc to examine baby death trial

NEWS BRIEF: UK commercial broadcaster ITV has commissioned a documentary film under the working title The Trial of Louise Woodward about the case of a British au-pair accused of murdering a baby in her care.

Produced by London-based Voltage TV, The Trial of Louise Woodward will chart the 1997 trial of the then 19-year-old, who was charged with shaking nine-month-old Matthew Eappen to death while she was working in the US. The doc was commissioned by Tom Giles, ITV’s controller of current affairs.
