Intuitive makes McMahill appointment

US chef and TV personality Andrew Zimmern’s Intuitive Content has appointed a veteran producer as its VP of production and development.

Patrick McMahill has joined the Minneapolis-based firm, having developed a long history with the company after working with it to produce How to Survive a Murder (Reelz) and the second season of The Zimmern List (Travel Channel).

McMahill will be tasked with generating character-driven docuseries and creating original formats for broadcast and cable networks as well as streaming platforms.

He joins the current programming team of 10 to help oversee a production slate of close to 100 hours of programming, including the upcoming What’s Eating America with Andrew Zimmern (MSNBC).

McMahill will report to Intuitive founder and CEO Zimmern and senior VP Patrick Weiland.

Previously, McMahill directed the second season of HGTV series Home Town, while his other credits include Log Cabin Living, Beach Hunters, Rustic Renovation, We Bought the Farm, Mountain Men, Renovate to Rent, Renovation Road and Stone House Revival.

With over a decade of television experience, McMahill has produced hundreds of hours of programming for networks including A&E, PBS, Travel Channel, Nat Geo, History, HGTV and DIY.

Intuitive has recently wrapped or is in production on multiple as-yet-unannounced projects with MSNBC, Magnolia, PBS, Amazon and Discovery, the company said.
