Int’l nets take on Blue Ant’s Demons

Gary & His Demons was based on a pilot from the Bite On Mondo incubator

CONTENT LONDON: Broadcasters in the UK, Ireland, Canada and Australia have acquired a new comedy cartoon aimed at teens and young adults from Blue Ant Media’s fledgling animation studio.

Gary & His Demons (16×11′) will air on Comedy Central in the UK and Republic of Ireland in a primetime slot, ABC Comedy in Australia and CBC in Canada via its streaming service.

Based on a shortform pilot from the Bite On Mondo incubator (a collaboration between Blue Ant-owned Bite TV, online channel Mondo and YouTube), Gary & His Demons centres on a 45-year-old on the cusp of retirement who is forced to keep fighting demons after his boss fails to find his replacement.

It was created by Mark Little (Picnicface), who serves as head writer, co-director and the voice of the title character, and premiered in the US on the Mondo Channel on streaming service VRV earlier this year.

It is produced by Blue Ant’s Toronto-based Look Mom! Productions, founded last year, and distributed by Blue Ant’s sales arm Blue Ant International, which is here at Content London this week.
