Int’l nets pick up Boeing disaster doc

An Ethiopian Airlines 737 Max crashed soon after take-off

A one-off documentary on the two fatal crashes caused by technical problems with Boeing’s 737 Max aircraft has been sold to broadcasters around the world by London-based distributor TVF International.

The Boeing 737 Max: What Went Wrong? was originally produced by Arrow Media for UK public service broadcaster Channel 4.

The documentary investigates the two fatal Boeing 737 crashes in Indonesia and Ethiopia that left a death toll of 346 and occurred only five months apart. The documentary includes insight from victims’ relatives and aviation experts and uses CGI reconstruction.

It has been picked up by Welt in Germany, TV2 in Norway, Belgium’s Medialaan, SVT in Sweden and Australia’s Nine Network.

Ash Potterton, executive producer for Arrow Media said: “The two Max crashes were a truly global story, with passengers from 35 different countries being killed and the Max remaining grounded worldwide, so we’re delighted to be working with TVF to distribute the programme to the widest possible audience.”
