Int’l nets land Keshet dramas

Stockholm has been picked up by Canada’s CBC

MIPTV: CBC in Canada, Brazil’s Globosat and SBS in Australia are among the broadcasters to have picked up an array of scripted series from Israeli distributor Keshet International.

Pubcaster CBC is the first to international broadcaster to add Artza Productions’ Stockholm (4×40’) to its slate, with the show set to become available on its recently launched streaming service CBC Gem.

The Israeli black comedy, based on the bestselling book by Noa Yedlin, follows a lively group of 70-somethings who cover up a friend’s death so that he can win a Nobel prize posthumously. It is currently being adapted for US audiences by Keshet Studios.

Elsewhere, Globosat has acquired full broadcast rights to Hebrew-language dramas Sleeping Bears (10×45’), from July August Films, and the first two seasons of Commandments, from Abot Hameiri Barkai.

KI has also completed its first sale abroad of Turkish drama 7 Faces (7×50’) with SBS. The Bir Films series features seven intertwined stories of modern life in Istanbul and is the first Turkish series to be picked up by SBS On Demand.

Other recent KI deals have seen the first two seasons of espionage thriller False Flag being picked up by BETV in Belgium, US streamer Hulu and Canal+ in France.

Alongside its global deal with Netflix for When Heroes Fly, KI’s sales team has sold non-exclusive SVoD rights to the Spiro Films thriller to PickBox in Croatia, Serbia, Slovenia, Macedonia, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
