RTVE in Spain, RTBF in Belgium, RTS in Switzerland, SIC in Portugal, NOGA in Israel and Radio Canada have all acquired Sonic Boom (52×11′), which has already begun airing in the US on Cartoon Network (CN).

CN will also air the series on its various channels in the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Latin America and the Middle East.

Sonic Boom airs in France on Gulli and Canal J, having been produced by videogames outfit Sega alongside Paris-based Ouido! Productions.

The action-comedy series is aimed at six- to 11-year-olds and centres on the adventures of Sonic and his sidekick Tails as well as their battles with arch-nemesis Dr Eggman.

The iconic blue hedgehog first appeared as a videogame character in 1991 and went on to spawn 70 games and four animated TV series.
