Int’l nets descend on Knightfall

Knightfall will launch at MipTV in Cannes

A host of broadcasters around the world have acquired A+E Networks’ drama about the Knights Templar that is being executive produced by Hollywood star Jeremy Renner.

SBS Two in Australia; HBO and Cinemax in Central Europe, Poland, Spain and Andorra; HBO Nordics; and iQiyi and BesTV in China are among the platforms to have acquired the 10-episode series.

Sirkus in Iceland, Yes in Israel, FilmBox Premium in Central and Eastern Europe and iflix in South-East Asia will also air the show, which follows the persecution of the medieval order of knights.

Developed by A+E Networks-owned cablenet History, the series is an A+E Studios production in association with Renner and Don Handfield’s production company The Combine and Midnight Radio. It will also air on History in the US, Canada, Latin America and South-East Asia.

Executive producers Dominic Minghella, Don Handfield, Richard Rayner and Renner will join cast members Tom Cullen, Simon Merrells, Olivia Ross and Sabrina Bartlett in Cannes at MipTV next week to launch the show.
