Int’l nets acquire ballet drama

MIPTV: Broadcasters around the world have come onboard German network ZDF’s forthcoming Find Me in Paris, an opera-themed time-travel drama series for tweens.

ABC in Australia, Disney Channel in France and Italy, France Télévisions and VRT Belgium will air the series, which has a budget of €11m (US$11.74m) and was formerly known as Paris Opera.

It is produced by Paris-based Cottonwood Media and ZDF and ZDF Enterprises in Germany, with Federation Kids & Family handling international distribution.

The live-action series follows a young dancer and princess who, poised to become the next young star of the ballet world in 1905, is sent into the 21st century after wearing an old necklace.

The show is being produced on location in Paris and at the Garnier Opera House, with showrunners Jill Girling and Lori Matter Welch attached.
