Int’l broadcasters Keep Faith in BBC drama

Fox in Germany, Globosat in Brazil and Elisa Viihde in Finland are among the international broadcasters to have acquired season two of BBC drama Keeping Faith.

The second run of the series, produced by Vox Pictures and shopped by French distributor APC, will make its bow in the UK on July 23.

UPC Switzerland and Green Narae Media in South Korea have also picked up S2, joining Amazon Prime Video in France; Yes DBS in Israel; RTP in Portugal; Sjuan, TV4 Play and C More in the Nordic Countries; and Canal+ and Ale Kino+ in Poland.

APC’s coproduction deal with Acorn Media Enterprises for all rights across the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, plus home entertainment in the UK and Ireland, has also been extended.

Acorn TV, the North American streaming service for UK and other international TV, will give the show its US and Canadian premiere at the same time as the BBC1 launch. Acorn’s distribution rights across Australia, New Zealand, the UK and Ireland will be overseen by Acorn Media International.

Keeping Faith proved a success in its first season on Welsh public broadcaster S4C, BBC Wales and the BBC iPlayer before being shown on BBC1 across the UK.

S2 is written by Matthew Hall and Pip Broughton, directed by Pip Broughton and Judith Dine, and coproduced by Pip Broughton and Gwenllian Gravelle.

The plot follows a lawyer, wife and mother who is drawn into a mystery when her husband and business partner vanishes, leading to an investigation that uncovers secrets about his life.
