Insight TV sets up US studio

MIPCOM: Dutch ultra-high-definition (UHD) broadcaster Insight TV is opening a US studio specialising in original productions and coproductions plus branded entertainment in 4K.

Insight TV Studios will develop and produce original content for broadcasters and digital platforms. The company will also look for coproduction partners and brands to help finance series and live television event programming.

The new arm will also license content from Insight TV’s library of originals, all of which is filmed in native 4K UHD HDR and available in HD and UHD.

Natalie Boot, head of media sales for Insight TV, will oversee Insight TV Studios with Mark Romano, VP of Americas, based at the company’s New York offices.

Rian Bester, CEO of Insight TV, said: “We are expanding our production services to also create original programming for third-party media platforms in the US.

“We will be seeking coproduction partners that complement our high technical standards and continue our work with US brands like Monster Energy to produce content targeted for Millennial and Gen-Z audiences.”

Insight is here in Cannes this week shopping recent titles to the international market such as motoring series Car Crews with Supercar Blondie (6×48’), Epic Exploring (10×44’), starring urban explorers Josh and Cody, and eSports series Modern Day Gladiators (4×44’).

Elsewhere, Insight TV has also announced a partnership with pay TV operator Virgin Media in the UK for a one-hour daily branded block of Insight programming on its UHD channel.

Programming from Insight’s library will be available to subscribers daily between 19.00 and 20.00.
